Some sessions you leave already knowing they are going to stick with you, and this was one of those. Justin and Sharon spent the evening at the Valley, and by the time we wrapped I was pretty sure they were my favourite couple to shoot all year.

The Valley sits right on the University of Toronto Scarborough campus, which made this one feel a little personal for me. I went to the same school, a few years apart from them, so being back on these trails was a bit of a throwback. Same paths, same trees, just a very different reason to have a camera up this time.

They are cozy in their own quiet way. Not loud about it, just easy with each other. The way Sharon looks at Justin pretty much tells you everything, and he lights right back up every time. We wandered the paths as the sun dropped through the trees, they cracked each other up, and mostly I just kept shooting and let them be them.

They brought a couple of friends along to help carry things, and at one point the friends mentioned they had never seen Justin and Sharon quite like this before. That one stuck with me. Sometimes the people who know you best are the ones who clock it first when you are exactly where you are meant to be.

Justin and Sharon, thank you for this one. It was easily one of my favourite evenings behind the camera this year, and I cannot wait to see what is next for you two.
